SaaS Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Product Designer to own and elevate the end-to-end user experience across our product suite. You will establish SaaS Labs as a leader in SaaS design and make experience a core competitive advantage.
Qualification:
- Own the user experience across all SaaS Labs products end-to-end
- Make experience a core competitive advantage
- Establish frameworks, processes, and systems to enable a design-first culture
- Build a customer-focused, research-driven culture across product teams
- Optimize the existing team structure and talent mix
- Coach and mentor the team to nurture talent and growth
- Partner with product leaders to advocate for and enable design thinking
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Strategy: Lead user research at SaaS Labs - defining goals, building hypotheses, and bringing insights to our product development process
- Leadership and Mentorship: Invest in growth and mentorship of Product Designers - designing programs for learning and raising the bar for the Product Design function.
- Strategy and Execution: Partner with Product Managers and Engineering to define product vision and deliver high-quality designs and products for our 25K+ users
- Champion Users: Establish our design strategy and vision through a deep understanding of our users and their needs. Leverage this to build a design system that will scale with our business.
- Designing: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions across web/mobile interfaces
- Scalable Culture: Build a culture of documentation and scalability through design reviews, component libraries, and continuous feedback. Stay connected with industry trends, design best practices, etc., to ensure a culture of growth
Skills:
- Experience designing self-serve products (ideally SaaS) users love and use globally - including driving research, establishing design principles, and building iteratively
- Collaborative builder - excited about building relationships with our global customers but also internal teams such as customer success, marketing, and engineering
- Strong communication skills - can clearly articulate the “why” behind design decisions to cross-functional teams; comfortable giving and receiving feedback
- Ability to prioritize, manage, and execute work in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment
- A strong portfolio showcasing your process and work and demonstrating user-centered design methods and principles, including quantitative and qualitative research methods
